This WP addresses the role of cultural, material and immaterial, historical-artistic-monumental and landscape heritage, as an additional cohesion element to safeguard life and economic activities in actions in favor of resilience, and in the definition and quantification of resilience itself. Recognizing how the cohesion of communities is a central element in resilience at every scale of social aggregation, the common perception of cultural values and communities’ commitment to their protection becomes essential. At the same time, protection of cultural heritage from natural hazards such as floods, landslides and earthquakes need to rely on specific conservation and defense techniques and monitoring technologies.
