Spoke 7 – TS3: Communities’ resilience to risks: social, economic, legal and cultural dimensions

Spoke: UNIFI; supported by CIMA

Spoke Leader: Fabio Castelli; Co-Leaders: Marina Morando, Nicola Rebora

Spoke 7 in a nutshell

The Spoke TS3 aims to enhance the correct perception of risk at all levels – considering the psychological and educational aspects – and to incorporate the conditions of uncertainty of risks in the cognitive and decision-making processes. Moreover, a support is given in the preparedness and resilience of the population exposed to risks through specific information, education, training, and participatory processes and in the definition of technological, methodological, and political measures of risk mitigation to safeguard the cultural and natural heritage. The dimensions explored by this Spoke also include research on juridical-legal aspects, and on the profiles of responsibility in decision-making chains. Merging all these elements of innovation will finally lead to the construction of a more resilient socioeconomic model for multi-level risk governance that includes all the key actors involved in preparation and adaptation to disaster risks.
