WP 6.3 – Dynamic mapping of natural and climatic hazards over the infrastructure systems

Leader: Paola Mazzoglio (POLITO). Participants: ENEA, UNIBO, UNIROMA1, UNIPA, UNINA, CIMA, ENG, UNIKORE, IREN, FS, POLIMI, POLITO

WP 6.3 in a nutshell

This WP addresses the need of defining criteria for transferring the countrywide knowledge of natural hazard over the Infrastructure Networks (IN) and Critical Points (CP) in hazard maps. As the understanding of hazards is expected to evolve during the project, the maps must be able to reflect dynamically the evolution of knowledge, particularly as regards the expected climate changes. The results of Spokes 1 to 4, and the climate scenarios produced in spoke 8, will be then connected to existing robust methodologies for hazard classification of links and critical nodes of the main road, railways, water and utility IN, as well as dams, power generation and wastewater facilities, considering the functional interrelations enhanced in WP 6.2.
